Technology and Program Support Manager (Part-Time) +

Duties and responsibilities
This position is for a technology and program support team member working with the engineering team currently building and deploying IoT solutions based on AWS. The person can work from home from any location within USA. Our product features a React Native based mobile app currently hosted on AWS and deriving data from multiple smart devices leveraging protocols including MQTT and JSON.


Requirements

• Work with the development partners (based in east coast) and customers to track the project status and ensure effective communication
• Collate and track features that need to be built going forward (in Trello and Jira)
• Configure, test and ship smart home hardware units and associated mobile app
• Incident support (8 X 5 support from 9 AM to 5 PM CST) – customer inputs received by emails and resolved remotely

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years programming experience
• Managed at least one software program or project
• Under graduate degree in computer science or other form of technical certification
• Familiarity with cloud and/or IoT technologies
• Excellent communication skills and a knack for utilizing team software
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work well with others

Tech Engineer +

Duties and responsibilities
This position is for an engineering leader focused on driving a team working on IoT solutions based on AWS. The responsibilities will include taking a leading role in building, maintaining, deploying and monitoring the mobile applications and the accompanying AWS infrastructure. Our product features a React Native-based mobile app currently hosted on AWS and deriving data from multiple smart devices leveraging protocols including MQTT. Your role will allow us to be more collaborative and accountable for our customers. Together we will make our customers safer and more protected given that we proactively prevent claims from happening, while we connect to and positively impact society at large. We will measure our performance by tracking client inputs, NPS score and celebrating individual growth and respect difference of opinion.


Qualifications/Competencies

• Core experience with AWS with exposure to IoT and Mobile technologies being a plus
• Experience with Serverless technologies, especially AWS Lambda, is a plus
• Experience with IoT is a plus
• Exposure to Machine Learning concepts is a plus
• Experience working with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging
• Comfortable working in a startup environment and be able to navigate in ambiguous environment. Must be able to learn topics in areas where they lack expertise
• Able to prioritize and focus on getting things done
• Able to give and receive critical feedback
• Soft skills include being collaborative, accountable, being respectful to individuals and focus on quality of product

Education and Experience

• 5+ years full-stack development experience
• 2+ years of experience in managing a 10+ member technical team. Experience in managing a vendor preferable
• 5+ years building web and mobile applications
• 1+ years building a React Native based mobile application
• 1+ years creating and deploying software in an PaaS Environment in AWS
• 1+ years working with NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, CouchDB, etc.)
• 3+ years working on JavaScript and Python

Essential Duties—Ideal candidate will have experience in these areas:

• Manage production code in AWS - Successful deployment and management of code in AWS that results in working product features externally for clients
• Build new product features as part of product roadmap - Be able to deliver technical features that users/customers can successfully use
• Ensure effective testing - Defect free code in production so that product/feature set functions the way it is supposed to be
• Configure new devices, users and customers - Successful end to end transaction using IoT devices setup
• Team Support - Honoring our company values support the team and company growth by implementing the spirit of each value, each day and with every interaction

Physical Requirement
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and interface with computer screens for long period of time. Able to move quickly in the environment as needed.
